SubsiMail vs. Apollo

Worth saying up front: Apollo is fundamentally a B2B contact database — 275M+ people and companies you can search, filter, and pull into a sequence — with sending bolted on. SubsiMail is just the sending half: self-hosted sequences, tracking, and reply detection for a list you already have. If you need to find prospects, not just email the ones you've got, these aren't really the same category.

Being fair about it

Where Apollo is actually the better fit

If you don't already have a prospect list and need to build one — searching by title, company size, industry, technographics — that's Apollo's entire reason for existing, and SubsiMail has nothing like it. A common real setup is actually both: source and verify contacts in Apollo, then export them into a self-hosted sender for the outreach itself, so your finished list and reply data don't also have to live on a platform you're paying per seat for.

FAQ

Can I use Apollo to find leads and SubsiMail to email them?

Yes — export contacts from Apollo as CSV and import them into SubsiMail (import guide). Plenty of teams split it this way: a database for sourcing, a self-hosted tool for sending.

Is Apollo's data accurate?

Contact-database accuracy varies by list and region industry-wide; some users report meaningful bounce rates on exported lists, more so outside the US. That's inherent to any prospecting database, not something SubsiMail can speak to since we don't provide one.

Have people reported account issues with Apollo?

Some public reviews describe account suspensions or lockouts (including VPN-triggered ones) that users found hard to resolve through support. We're citing that because it's on the record publicly, not because we've verified each case — judge it against your own risk tolerance for a platform-run account.

Does SubsiMail have anything like Apollo's dialer or Chrome extension?

No. SubsiMail is email sequencing only — no dialer, no LinkedIn prospecting extension, no contact enrichment.
