SubsiMail vs. Smartlead
Smartlead already gets one thing right that a lot of the category doesn't: unlimited connected mailboxes on every plan, not per-seat pricing. The real difference is where it runs. Smartlead is hosted — your list, your templates, and your reply data live on their servers. SubsiMail runs the same core workflow entirely on yours.
Where they actually differ
| SubsiMail | Smartlead | |
|---|---|---|
| Where it runs | Your own server | Smartlead's cloud |
| Who can read your list and outbound content | Nobody but you | Smartlead's platform, by design |
| What the price scales with | Number of connected inboxes — sends and contacts are unlimited on every plan | Monthly send volume and stored-contact count (mailboxes themselves are unlimited on every tier, same as us) |
| Mailbox rotation / load balancing | Not built in — a campaign sends from the inbox you assign it | Automatic rotation across connected mailboxes, built in |
| Warmup | Bring your own warmup process; sends only through your own inbox | Built-in warmup pool included |
| If you stop paying | App keeps running on your server, all data intact | Account access ends |

Where Smartlead is actually the better fit
If you're running high mailbox counts and want automatic rotation and load-balancing across them, plus a built-in warmup pool, without touching a server yourself, Smartlead already does that well. SubsiMail doesn't rotate sends across mailboxes automatically and doesn't ship a warmup network — you connect one inbox per campaign step and run your own warmup. The trade you're making by choosing SubsiMail is less built-in send-orchestration in exchange for your list and content never leaving your own infrastructure.
FAQ
Doesn't Smartlead already have unlimited mailboxes and flat-ish pricing?
Yes, on the mailbox count specifically — that part isn't a real differentiator. The actual differences are what the price still scales with (Smartlead: send volume and contacts; SubsiMail: only inbox count, with unlimited sends and contacts always) and, more importantly, where your data lives.
Does SubsiMail rotate sends across multiple mailboxes automatically?
No. Each campaign step sends from the inbox you connect to it. If automatic rotation and load-balancing across many mailboxes is central to how you run outreach, that's a genuine gap versus Smartlead today.
Is Smartlead known for banning accounts?
We didn't find a clear, sourced pattern of that specifically. The more commonly cited complaints are around reliability — support responsiveness and analytics accuracy — not account suspensions. We'd rather say that plainly than invent a complaint that isn't well-supported.
Can I switch from Smartlead to SubsiMail?
Export your contacts to CSV and import them (import guide), then reconnect your sending inboxes via Gmail, Outlook, or SMTP.
