Unsubscribe link in my emails gives a 404

#9 Resolved
Linda G. 95 days ago

A contact told me the unsubscribe link at the bottom of my email just gives them a 404 page. I checked and it's true — the link looks right but doesn't resolve. Is this a known issue?

Can you paste the actual unsubscribe URL from one of your sent emails (you can grab it from the email source/raw view)? The most common cause is a custom tracking domain that was set up but not fully verified — the unsubscribe link uses the same domain as your click tracking, so if that domain's DNS isn't finished propagating, both break together.

Ah, I did add a custom tracking domain last week and never finished verifying it — totally forgot. Checking DNS now.

Just checked and your custom tracking domain (track.yourcompany.com) is now showing as verified on our end, and the unsubscribe link resolves correctly for me. Good catch — worth noting for anyone reading this: an unverified tracking domain silently breaks both click tracking and unsubscribe links, not just one or the other.
