License key says invalid after I reinstalled on a new server

#7 Resolved
Elizabeth H. 205 days ago

I migrated SubsiMail to a new VPS and reused the same license key from the old install, but I'm getting “This license key is not valid for this installation.” The old server is already shut down. How do I move my license over?

Licenses are tied to a machine fingerprint rather than an IP or hostname, so moving servers does need a manual release on our end — otherwise the system assumes the license might still be active somewhere else. Since your old server is already down, go to your account page and click “Release this license from its current install,” then re-activate on the new server. If you don't see that option (it only appears once, to prevent abuse), reply here with your license key and I'll release it manually.

Found the release option, that worked — activated fine on the new server. Thanks for the quick turnaround.
